Leading oil pipe manufacturer reports record production
Hunting Group’s manufacturing facility in the Netherlands are currently enjoying record production figures thanks to the installation of the Top-Turn XCF56 hollow spindle lathe.
The machine was supplied by heavy duty lathe specialists, Viaturn. The machine has a 21” hollow spindle and 3 metres between centres. The impressive production rates have been achieved by using the SMW pneumatic front chuck for easier set up along with a custom made pipe handling system. Production Manager Andre Verbiest says “ the machine is working non-stop on a 3 shift system and so reliability is key.
